Paying Your Rent

 

Tenants must pay their rent on time to avoid falling into arrears. To help the Co-operative offers several alternative ways of paying your rent:

If tenants fail to keep up with their rent payments they will fall into arrears and they will be sent warning letters advising them of the debt and requesting payment. Should they not respond, or fail to keep to agreements to repay the debt in a reasonable time, legal proceedings will be started which could result in them losing their home.

 

Rent Free Weeks

 
Tenants receive four rent-free weeks in every financial year. There is one in April, one in October and two at Christmas.

Tenants can pay by direct debit. To request a form please call into the Co-operative office or telephone the Co-operative on 0121 530 0246 or Sandwell Homes on 0121 569 5031.
